3rdSUMMARYSupervisor must have the ability to mentor and train a diverse group of employees working in their department.
The Production Supervisor must effectively train all employees so they fully understand and can articulate the safety, quality, and productivity targets for their work area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
oActively drive and support the following continuous improvement activities:
- Customer quality improvement efforts- Cost minimization efforts- Scrap reduction efforts- FTT improvement efforts- Housekeeping/5S improvement plans- Productivity improvement efforts- Safety improvement efforts- Kaizen events with documented storyboardsoTrain employees in the specific tasks associated with the job including safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
oManage quality containment activities.
Ensure effective containment is in place and the process is correctly being followed.
oAssist teams in problem solving efforts.
Effectively utilize support staffs (other departments) to assist.
oCoordinate training and maintain training records that reflect the latest process changes.
oFollow the process documentation and monitor the inbound materials in their department.
oWork with internal and external customers to resolve issues and insure complete customer satisfaction.
oInsure that all members of the Inalfa operating team adhere to the rules of the company.
oTrack and Maintain employee time, time off requests and discipline with assistance of HR DepartmentoConduct Start of Shift tool box meetingsoInsure all equipment and tools are available and functioning properly for effective production capability.
oFollow escalation procedure to minimize down time and quality issues.
oThe Production Supervisor must be a team builder and recognize the strengths and weaknesses of the team members and make work assignments accordingly.
oResponsible for TS16949 and ISO 14001 compliance on the manufacturing floor.
Make sure their employees are fully trained on both.
oThe Supervisor must work with Material and Warehouse Manager, with Maintenance Manager, and Department and work with Human Resources.
oAudit team member for Quality, Housekeeping and Environmental programs.
oConduct employee evaluations on a regular basis and annually.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises the employees in the assembly department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

Adhere to all IATF16949 (Quality) / ISO14001 (Environmental) / ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) procedures as related to the operations department function.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEAssociates degree or equivalent; or 2 to 5 years of automotive experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
MECHANICAL ABILITYBasic knowledge of the Mechanics of Electrical, Motors, Conveyors, Pneumatics, and Actuators.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
